MINKIE!
Minkie, so much to say, yet, getting harder every day. Soon we will say goodbye. She became part of our lives in Febuary 1994. We had just moved into our home and the wife really wanted another dalmation. I was working a lot in those days and was rarely home, she needed a friend to keep her company. Minkie is the a very sweet dog, but, does have a very stubborn side to her personality. She will just sit near us for hours on end. She likes to be touched, but, is not demanding about it. She does get extremely demanding when dinnertime approaches and when she believes she deserves a snack.  She is really careful around housewares and stuff.
She has always been a wonderful companion. She is nearing 14 years old at this point and there is not much time left to enjoy her company. She is recently deaf and blind and is now starting to have problems with her right rear hip. I think she has had a stroke, she collapsed and lost all control of her body for about 3 hours. As she regained control, it took a long time for her right side to get back to normal. We are dreading the day that we know is soon to come, but, we know that Minkie has always been happy and has enjoyed us as much as we have enjoyed her.
She has lived another year, now.  On December 9th 2008 she turned 15.  Minkie is almost completely blind as well as deaf and will be leaving us soon.  3 of her four legs barely work and she has to be carrid everywhere and held up for all of her business.  She is not in any pain at all, and is still happy when we touch and stroke her.  We will miss her a lot!
